Alumi Craft Racers Win BITD Pahrump 250 & Brock Heger Takes Back To Back Class 1000 Championship
December 12, 2018
The 2018 Best In The Desert (BITD) season has come to an end with the series finale, the Pahrump Nugget 250. The off road desert race featured first time winner Brent Fox that captured the Class 1000 victory with four Alumi Craft Racers in the Top 5. Brock Heger raced to a 2nd place podium finish and earned the Class 1000 division points championship.
The Pahrump 250 is a rapid sprint race that took place in the southwest corner of Nevada and hugs both sides of Interstate 95 towards Rhyolite before retuning back near the Start / Finish. Brent Fox in his #1075 Alumi Craft started in second position behind fellow Alumi Craft competitor #1001 of Brock Heger. After the 250 miles of harsh desert terrain, Brock Heger was the first 1000 car to cross the finish line in 4 Hours, 13 Minutes, and 58 Second. Brent Fox beat out Heger, racing to the finish line by just 14 seconds quicker. Conner McMullen finished in 4th place and Todd Tuls rounded out the Top 5 with four Alumi Craft Race Cars.
“It was a good clean day for us,” declared Fox. “We had no flats and we’re able to run a real solid pace. I know Heger is the one to beat so I had to give it the gas and the Alumi Craft did the rest! This was our first career race win and we have been working hard for this.”
Brent continued, “I bought the car in March. We finished 4th at Silver State, 4th at Vegas 2 Reno, 4th at the Laughlin Desert Challenge, and now just raced to our first victory. Not bad for a couple dudes with only a handful of desert races under our belt. Mach 1 Race Prep has been doing an outstanding job maintaining our Alumi Craft. This car is top notch and I really enjoy driving it. Scratch that, I love this car!”
Heger commented on winning the BITD Class 1000 Championship. “We did it! It is so cool to be the back to back 1000 car champions! We have had an amazing year and it would not have been possible without the great group and support from everyone involved. Family, friends, sponsors, fans, all of you rock!”
Brock ran an impressive season winning 4 out of the 6 races in the Best In The Desert series in his 2X championship winning Class 1000 Alumi Craft Buggy.
